After six years in Saratoga, the NYCBL’s Saratoga Phillies announced that they are moving to Oneonta to replace the departed NY-Penn League’s Oneonta Tigers. The move is “bittersweet,” according to Keith Rogers, co-owner of the Phillies. While he loves the Saratoga community, he expressed that the relocation is purely a matter of economic survival. That said, we think the “awesome” (quoting Rogers) facilities at Damashke Park should be the perfect antidote for any market separation anxiety felt by the Phillies. Read more here.
