Sodexo Named Concessionaire at Whataburger Field

PRESS RELEASE – Ryan-Sanders Baseball announced Wednesday a partnership with Sodexo, Inc., to serve as concessionaire at Whataburger Field and The Dell Diamond. A leader in food and facility management, Sodexo has more than 6,000 clients throughout North America. Headquartered in Gaithersburg, Md., Sodexo serves more than 10 million customers daily.

Sodexo is no stranger to major sporting venues as the concessionaire for the University of Texas, Texas Tech, Oklahoma State, TCU and UTEP at the collegiate level. Sodexo also handles concessions for many professional teams, including the Columbus Clippers of the International League, the Huntsville Stars of the Southern League, and the El Paso Diablos and Grand Prairie AirHogs of the American Association.

Concession stands at Whataburger Field and The Dell Diamond will have an entirely new look for the 2010 season, featuring new menus with more options and faster points of sale. Fans will also be able to pay via credit card. Concessions will become more visual with picture menus and menu boards throughout both ballparks.

There will be several opportunities for fans to get a taste of the concessionaire prior to the start of the 2010 season with food samplings at both venues in coming weeks.

“Good food options always have been a part of the gameday experience for fans at Whataburger Field and The Dell Diamond,” Express President and Ryan-Sanders COO Jay Miller said. “We strongly believe this partnership with Sodexo will further that part of the atmosphere. Fans will have a wider selection both in food options and in payment options. This change will make everything involving concessions at our venues a better experience.”
