Additional toppings are available including fresh produce from Eckert’s Farm and horseradish mayo from Keller Farms.
“Great food comes from great ingredients,” said Grizzlies General Manager Steve Gomric. “We took the best ingredients in the St. Louis area and put them into this burger.”
The Beast will be available for purchase through the Grizzlies catering department or fans can elect to purchase 1/15 of The Beast at the Great Grizzlie Grill.
“Five pounds of meat, fresh produce, how can you go wrong,” continued Gomric. “Try the burger and you will see the results are fantastic.”
The Beast continues a Grizzlies tradition that began in 2004 when Baseball’s Best Hotdog hit GCS Ballpark. It consisted of a 1/5 pound Farmland 8 inch All Beef Black Angus Hot Dog, topped with two strips of freshly cooked bacon, 1 oz. Sautéed Onions, 1 oz. Sautéed Sauerkraut and ½ oz. Cheddar Cheese Sauce, all on a fresh baked bun.
In 2005, the Swiss Brat was introduced. The “Swiss Brat” is made from a Johnsonville Bratwurst with a slice of Swiss cheese in the middle of it. 1oz. of Sautéed Sauerkraut is served on top.
The Grizzlies and Krispy Kreme Doughnuts teamed up in 2006 to create “Baseball’s Best Burger.” The burger consisted of a Holten Thick and Juicy burger topped with sharp cheddar cheese and two slices of bacon. The burger is then placed in between each side of a Krispy Kreme Original Glazed doughnut. The burger was an instant hit and gained the Grizzlies and Krispy Kreme alike National recognition.
In 2007, “Baseball’s Best Slider” made its way into concessions. It utilized a thin-sliced, steam-grilled, square-shaped burger topped with cheese and grilled onions that is then breaded and deep-fried.
“Baseball’s Best Soft Pretzel” came along in 2008 and consisted of a J&J Snack Foods SUPERPRETZEL® that was marinated in Frank’s Red Hot Buffalo Wing Sauce and served with a slice of mozzarella cheese melted over the top of it.
Lastly, “Baseball’s Best Nachos” hit the market in 2009 and featured a bed of tri-color tortilla chips, topped with seasoned philly beef steak, flame roasted onions and peppers, then smothered in Monterrey Jack cheese sauce. They along with Baseball’s Best Burger were featured on the hit television show Man v. Food on the Travel Channel.
