PRESS RELEASE – The Joliet JackHammers have announced “Eye of the Tiger Golf Night” for Thursday, June 3rd, 2010 when the JackHammers host the Rockford Riverhawks at 7:10 p.m. at Silver Cross Field. The Orange Crush open their season at home on Friday, May 28 against the Lake County Fielders.
“Eye of the Tiger Golf Night” will feature discounted tickets to local cocktail waitresses and disgruntled wives, and a text messaging contest to see who can text 300 messages the fastest. Us Weekly magazines will be handed out to the first 14 fans, excerpts from the VH1 cable reality series “Tool Academy” will be played on the video board throughout the night, and representatives from the Florida Highway Patrol will be invited to throw out the ceremonial first pitch and discuss the professional manner in which the FHP strives to complete each traffic investigation.
Additionally, all cheeseburgers sold at the concession stands that evening will feature Swiss cheese as opposed to the traditional American cheese. The JackHammers have also discussed giving away trips to Los Angeles and New York, but those arrangements have not been finalized.
“Everyone in attendance is sure to have a ‘smashing’ good time at ‘Eye of the Tiger Golf Night,’” says Sean Keegan, Director of Promotions and Community Relations for the club. “I for one love that song and I’d line up for a swiss cheese burger any day!” For more information, call the JackHammers Front Office at 815-726-2255.
