PRESS RELEASE – The Richmond Flying Squirrels have established a unique program where the club will donate 10% of daily sales throughout the month of December from the club’s new team store to over 20 different organizations and charities in the Richmond Metro area. The Flying Squirrels will celebrate the “soft” grand opening of the team store at 3:00 pm on December 1st.
“Our goal is to become a resource for non-profit organizations, schools, little leagues and programs in the area,” said Flying Squirrels Director of Community Relations/Promotions Christina Shisler. “We want the community to know we are here for them. Our team store fundraising program is a great start and we encourage the community to support its local non-profits and also get some great Flying Squirrels’ gear.”
The Flying Squirrels continue to strive to make an impact in the greater Richmond Metro area through various community outreach programs. The club recently partnered with Puritan Cleaners and helped to collect over 500 coats in a span of four hours during the Ballpark Warming Party at The Diamond. The team will soon be announcing plans about a Toys for Tots drive to be held at The Diamond as well.
Season-ticket packages for the inaugural season of Flying Squirrels baseball are currently available. For more information, call the Flying Squirrels at 804-359-FUNN (3866) or log on to SquirrelsBaseball.com.
