The NECBL’s American Defenders of Pittsfield are apparently having a bit of a ‘cash flow’ problem, which is delaying their payment of approximately $35,000 to the City of Pittsfield for use of Wahconah Park. For now, Mayor James M. Roberto is showing patience with the situation and has not yet imposed a deadline for payment. The team’s ownership group, Boston Baseball All-Stars LLC, also owns the troubled independent professional Can-Am League team in Nashua, which has been locked out of Holman Stadium for non-payment of approximately $45,000 owed to the city. We hope that this situation can be resolved. The NECBL is a great fit for Pittsfield. Read more here.
