New Sliders Trying to Build Momentum in Slippery Rock

Sliders LogoNo one expected that the tiny college town of Slippery Rock, Pennsyvania to be a long-term host community for professional baseball when the Frontier League arrived in 2007.  Indeed, the pro Sliders departed after year one.  But hope for baseball longevity at Jack Critchfield Park was rekindled when local businessman Mike Bencic launched the summer collegiate Prospect League Sliders in 2009.  Bencic has his work cut out for him.  The franchise averaged 222 fans per game in its inaugural season.  Read more here.
