Wounded Heroes Baseball Announces New Logo and Tucson Game Info

PRESS RELEASE – Today Hope4Heroes.org, a San Antonio based non-profit organization for veterans and families, announced the start of the 2011 Wounded Heroes Baseball Classic know as www.woundedheroesbaseball.com by releasing their new logo. Site Chosen for Escondido Ballpark, Enviro Study Released

The City of Escondido (CA) has selected a 15.3 acre site on North Spruce Street for the proposed new 9,000-seat Triple-A ballpark for the relocated Portland (OR) Beavers.  The city also released a $223,000, 86-page environmental study that gives the project a feasible green light.  The Beavers will play temporarily in Tucson (AZ) for the 2011 season.  View aerial and read more here and here.

Beavers Sold, Team to Play in Tucson in 2011

The Triple-A Portland Beavers have been sold to San Diego Padres owner Jeff Moorad.  The team will play the 2011 season in Tucson (AZ) and move into a new $50 million ballpark in Escondido (CA) in 2012, provided the project is approved.  Read more here.

Beavers Exploring Relocation to Tucson

With PGE park being renovated to accommodate a Major League Soccer franchise that will begin play in 2011, the Portland Beavers are exploring their options for temporary or permanent relocation after their 2010 season, with a particular focus on Tucson.  If a relocation to Tucson were to happen, it could spell trouble for the Golden Baseball League’s Tucson Toros.  Read more here.
