Site Chosen for Escondido Ballpark, Enviro Study Released
The City of Escondido (CA) has selected a 15.3 acre site on North Spruce Street for the proposed new 9,000-seat Triple-A ballpark for the relocated Portland (OR) Beavers. The city also released a $223,000, 86-page environmental study that gives the project a feasible green light. The Beavers will play temporarily in Tucson (AZ) for the 2011 season. Beavers Sold, Team to Play in Tucson in 2011
The Triple-A Portland Beavers have been sold to San Diego Padres owner Jeff Moorad. The team will play the 2011 season in Tucson (AZ) and move into a new $50 million ballpark in Escondido (CA) in 2012, provided the project is approved. Read more here.

Beavers Exploring Relocation to Tucson
With PGE park being renovated to accommodate a Major League Soccer franchise that will begin play in 2011, the Portland Beavers are exploring their options for temporary or permanent relocation after their 2010 season, with a particular focus on Tucson. If a relocation to Tucson were to happen, it could spell trouble for the Golden Baseball League’s Tucson Toros. Read more here.
