Banner Island Ballpark, home of the Single-A Stockton Ports (California League), will host the third Legends of Baseball Vintage Showdown on Wednesday, July 4. Former big leaguers and members of the California Vintage Base Ball Federation will don uniforms and use equipment from the 1880s. The City of Stockton (CA) will pay Marina Towers LLC $2.5 million over eight years to settle a lawsuit over land seized in 2004 to build a new ballpark for the Single-A Stockton Ports. Land where Marina Tower once stood is now a parking lot for the ballpark. Read more here.
