Phillies Pitcher Pitching In to Renovate Historic Arkansas Ballpark

Lamar Porter Revitalization Committee LogoArkansas native and Philadelphia Phillies pitcher Cliff Lee and his wife, Kristen, are working to get historic Lamar Porter Field back in tournament-quality shape with a $300,000 commitment of matching funds to start phase one of a $5.6 million renovation.  Opening in 1937, Lamar Porter is reportedly the oldest operating ballpark in Arkansas.  It is on the National Register of Historic Places.  Read more and Continue reading

Brooks Robinson Statue Unveiled

A 9-foot-tall, more than 1,500-lb. bronze statue of Baltimore Orioles great and Hall of Famer Brooks Robinson wearing a gold glove was unveiled on Saturday near the left field entrance to Oriole Park at Camden Yards.  Read more and view statue here.  Thanks to John Cerone for the story.
