Richmond Council Members Want Ballpark Consultant

Richmond Flying SquirrelsThe Richmond City Council voted 7-2 Monday to ask Mayor Dwight C. Jones to find $50,000 to hire outside consultants to help vet the plan to build a ballpark in Shockoe Bottom for the Double-A Richmond Flying Squirrels (Eastern League).  Read more here.

    What an interesting situation for that area. Having been there, I can see the concerns set forth and it is quite challenging. I do hope, however, the ballpark is built, without changing it’s heritage and culture. I have enjoyed both that area and the ball games.
