Karl Holden, former commissioner of the Mountain Collegiate Baseball League based in Colorado and Wyoming, is working to launch a new six-team summer collegiate circuit high up in the Colorado Rocky Mountains in the resort-dependent Vail Valley (avg. elev. 8,150). Because the “Vail Valley Baseball League” will be more Cape Cod League-like and not modeled after today’s minor league-like summer collegiate operations, we won’t spend too much time on it.
