Jerry Reese, who has brought multiple failed lawsuits to stop the construction of a new uptown Charlotte ballpark for the Triple-A Charlotte Knights (International League), has agreed to pull the plug on his crusade to kill the project, after a judge threatened to impose sanctions against him. Reese will now focus his efforts to bring Major League Baseball to the Carolinas in communities outside of Mecklenburg County. Read more here.

I’ll be down in Charlotte in May, so maybe I’ll check on the progress of the new ballpark while I’m there. BB&T ballpark, though, like the one in WS? It’s as bad as four Fifth-Third/Field/Ballparks in the midwest. Be original, but money is money I guess.
