The city of Greensboro (NC) has hired a consulting firm to explore ways to fund a project that would pair restoration and preservation of historic War Memorial Stadium, former home of the Single-A Greensboro Bats (now the Greensboro Grasshoppers) (South Atlantic League), with a broader restoration of the surrounding neighborhood and the future expansion of North Carolina A&T University’s campus. War Memorial Stadium was replaced by NewBridge Bank Park in 2005 and has faced threats of closure and demolition since then. Read more here.
