Wellington Ballpark Tour for Fans

The summer collegiate Wellington Heat (Jayhawk League), formerly Haysville Heat, hosted an open house last Thursday for fans to view improvements to Hibbs-Hooten Field, the team’s new home.  Some wonder if the ballpark is big enough to handle crowds of up to 1,100 on weekdays and 1,600 on weekends.  Considering Wellington is a town of a little over 8,000, that shouldn’t be a problem.  Read more here.

    The fire code person limit is approximately 660 in that park.
    Don’t know if there is much room for lawnchair seating down the lines.

    Those numbers, 1100 & 1600 are a bit optimistic. The best supported Jayhawk league club are the Hays Larks and they averaged 569 in 2012 according to their boxscores.
