PRESS RELEASE – Can-Am League commissioner Miles Wolff (pictured) announced on Friday that the membership of the Worcester Tornadoes held by Streamlined Sports, Inc., has been terminated. The team will complete its regular-season schedule September 1-3 at Newark.
“We have taken this action because the league wants strong, financially viable ownership in the Worcester market,” Wolff said. “We will begin immediately looking for ownership for a team in Worcester that will be a positive influence in the community for many years to come.”
Worcester has been a Member of the Can-Am League since 2005.

According to the Worcester Telegram & Gazette, ousted owner Todd Breighner says the league can’t sell the team without his consent and vows to fight to reinstate his ownership rights.
“They can’t tamper,” he said. “I have the records and the relationships. I don’t know how the heck they’re going to sell the team.”
