The River Falls Baseball Council in River Falls (WI), a town of 15,000 located about 30 miles east of Minneapolis-St. Paul (MN), is making progress to raise funds to build a new community ballpark. In addition to a $50,000 commitment from General Beer Northwest to help build a new Leinie Lodge pavilion equipped with restrooms and concessions, Nash Finch Company and Family Fresh Markets recently committeed $50,000 for a new scoreboard. The amateur River Falls Fighting Fish will play at the new park. Still no word if the summer collegiate Northwoods League has had any contact with the organizers.
