The New Hanover County (Wilmington, NC) Board of Elections has reviewed 2,447 of the approximately 4,000 signatures submitted to force a public vote on taxpayer funding for a new ballpark for a Single-A Carolina League franchise. So far, 1,880 have been verified. A total of more than 2,900 must be valid to trigger the referendum. Read more here.
