The Wilmington Ballpark Coaltion, a group of local business leaders supporting the proposed new baseball stadium in Wilmington (NC), was introduced to the community on Monday. It was also announced that representatives from Mandalay and the Atlanta Braves will hold a press conference to discuss the project at 10 a.m. this morning on the lawn of the Wilmington Chamber of Commerce. Erie seems to be on the edge of moving every year but nothing happens. Sayreville Swampdragons never panned out and however many other potential moves.
So here’s to the thought that it is Erie that is going to Ottawa as the great Mandalay sells Erie for the cash to do Wilmington. BMets denials of them going are true.
That’s the other likely scenario. I sense a bit of “great Mandalay” sarcasm here.
