PRESS RELEASE – The Gastonia Grizzlies announced today that they will let the fans choose the outrageous food item for the 2012 season. The Grizzlies have been known for their unique food items including the Krispy Kreme Donut Burger, Donut Dog and the Garbage Can Nachos.
Our front office staff has come up with four unique items and based on the fans vote, we will serve this new item for the entire 2012 season.
“We pride ourselves in having fun at the ballpark with all facets of our organization including our concessions, said Managing Partner Jesse Cole. “Our Donut products and Garbage Can Nachos have been extremely popular the past few seasons and we feel that the next huge item should be up to the fans.”
The options:
Claw Dog – Hot Dog, Chili, Nacho Cheese, Jalapenos and Texas Pete
Waffle Burger – Jumbo Cheeseburger in between two Belgian Waffles with Maple Syrup
Philly Cheesesteak Burrito with Chizzle’s Queso
Candy Dog – Hot Dog wrapped in Cotton Candy

The Grizzlies are proud members of the Coastal Plain League, the nation’s hottest summer collegiate baseball league. Celebrating its 15th season in 2011, the CPL features 15 teams playing in North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia. The CPL gives college players the chance to refine their skills with the use of wooden bats. Players are housed with local families for the summer and past experiences have been very positive for both the players and hosts.
