As a result of the California Supreme Court’s ruling this morning upholding the state’s right to abolish local redevelopment agencies, Escondido (CA) Mayor Sam Abed stated today that the proposed new ballpark for the Triple-A Tucson Padres (Pacific Coast League) is now dead. According to team owner Jeff Moorad, the franchise will likely be sold, unless another market steps up to the plate in the North County. Read more here.
