Blackhawks Night in Gary Saturday

PRESS RELEASE – Gary SouthShore RailCats will celebrate Blackhawks Night at U. S. Steel Yard featuring Hockey Hall of Famer and Chicago Blackhawks Ambassador Denis Savardas well as a Hockey Puck Giveaway to the first 1,000 fans courtesy of the Post-Tribune on Saturday, August 27 at 6:10 p.m.

Savard, one of the Chicago Blackhawks Ambassadors and a Hockey Hall of Famer, will visit Northwest Indiana on August 27 making his second stop at U. S. Steel Yard to greet and sign autographs for lucky fans when the RailCats take on the St. Paul Saints! Savard, who was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2000, is one of seven Blackhawks to have their numbers retired. Savard spent 12 of his 17 NHL seasons with the Hawks and amassed 473 career goals in 1,196 career games.

In addition to Savard’s appearance at U. S. Steel Yard on August 27, the first 1,000 fans entering the gates on this night will snag a hockey puck courtesy of the Post-Tribune!
