PRESS RELEASE - The Grand Prairie AirHogs have unveiled the 2010 Promotions Schedule for their third season of baseball at QuikTrip Park in Grand Prairie. The season, which kicks-off at home on May 14th (vs. Pensacola) will feature an array of fun and wacky promotions (which they’ve come to be known for), in addition to several post-game fireworks displays, community fundraisers and as always—affordable deals such as $1 hotdogs and sodas on Family Sundays, and $1 beers on Thursdays. Parking for games this year will (again) be FREE!
Many promotional nights such as “HogCare Reform” (June 12) and the “Twilight Saga Blood-Drive” (June 22) play on topical trends in the national media, whereas others simply help prepare fans for local concerts coming to the area such as the “Margaritaville Night- The Jimmy Buffett Warm-up”(May 15) and the “Lady GaGa Pre-Monster Ball” (July 15). With a goal of providing “something for everyone,” “Bastille Day” (July 14), “Bowling Night” (August 14), and “Inky & Ace Bacon Lookalike Night” (August 18) are new additions to this year’s calendar.
Seasonal favorites, such as “Purple in the Park” (June 11), “Dog Days” (May 25, June 13, August 1), and the ever-popular “Education Days” (May 19, May 26) will again be featured. Numerous “Hogs For A Cause” fundraisers will also take place including “Haitian Earthquake Relief Night” (May 17), Organ Donor Awareness Night (August 27) and the Bikers Against Child Abuse (B.A.C.A.) Motorcycle Parade (August 28) – (which featured over 400 bikers in last year’s parade).
Executive Vice President and General Manager Dave Burke added, “As always, we are committed to providing affordable family fun to our local communities and will continue to raise the bar year-after-year to meet their expectations. We intend to keep our price points low, the FUN level HIGH, and aim to create an exciting atmosphere of baseball and entertainment, all summer long…”
